Meeting Minutes for May 17, 2007
Present at the Meeting:
Bob Griffin, Catherine Hartman, Jim Owens, Jim Bothe, and Pat Casey
Topics Discussed:
· Reviewed meeting minutes from April 19, 2007.
· Discussed Volunteer Day that was on May 5th. Project list mostly completed. Volunteers were mostly hard working teenagers. They all seemed to have a good time as well. With so much positive feedback, suggestion was made to have annual fall and spring volunteer days and try to encourage more adults (utilize more early announcements: Mayor’s newsletter, outside activity board, and Meet & Greet folks).
· Suggestion was made to add a ‘Pack Out What You Pack In’ sign at parking lot.
· Catherine volunteered to help Bob with property history to be posted on signboard.
· Bob suggested a small shelter/gazebo up near pond.
· Wildflowers starting to come up, however there is a lot of Canadian thistle near pine tree area.
· Jim Bothe reported on pond condition (blue dye, fountain, debris, etc.).
· Tree identification and bird blind/bridge Boy Scout projects explained and again supported by committee. Bird blind should be situated so not looking into sun.
· Bo plans to have service department install drain tile along pond trail this summer.
Action Items:
· Jim Bothe to check with Jones Fish Hatcheries for suggested pond maintenance.
· Service Department to install Plexiglas cover to signboard.
· Catherine and Bob to document history for signboard posting.
· Add ‘Pack Out What You Pack In’ sign at parking lot. Service department could use Creative Blast.
· Service department to add drain tile along pond trail.
· Follow up on Boy Scout projects.
